On our second day, we took an important step in our project by first organizing country presentations, which consisted of two main parts, the first of which was an in-depth discussion on refugee and migrant issues in their respective geographies. After this important briefing, the country groups moved on to a comprehensive assessment of the refugee situation around the world, addressing the refugee issue in general.
In the second part of the event, the speakers addressed the problems of refugees in terms of education, social life, and future concerns, as well as prejudiced attitudes towards them. In this process, they had the opportunity to share their research and experiences in their own countries and offer a different perspective to the participants. After this content-rich session, they organized a panel discussion with the participants to explore the topic in more depth.
After these engaging activities, we organized a book reading activity with our participants, where stories about refugees were told. This activity was based on the book "Illegal: A Graphic Novel", a fascinating story of a child's journey from Africa to Europe. Each participant read 3 pages and then handed over the book to their friends to complete it, thus strengthening the friendships between the participants and giving them a chance to improve their English and public speaking skills.
In another activity, participants were given detailed information about the concept of simulation, focusing on the topic of "The Impact of Simulation on Refugee Children". Participants used their own experiences and knowledge to engage with this topic in an engaging way.
After these activities, the Z report, which is an end-of-day evaluation study, was organized with the participants and the 2nd day was completed in a very productive way.
