Hopeful Horizons for Refugee Youth and Children: Project implementation in which we are a partner

Hopeful Horizons for Refugee Youth and Children project held in Madrid/Alcobendas between 5-13 November 2024 has ended. Together with young people from Turkey, Austria, Latvia, Macedonia, Macedonia, Ukraine and Spain, a meaningful journey was carried out to draw attention to the challenges faced by refugee youth and children and to develop solutions.

What did we achieve in our project?

We raised awareness about the educational rights of refugee children.

We supported refugee children to adapt to their new environment by emphasising the importance of language and cultural orientation.

We helped to build friendships between refugee children and local youth.

We raised awareness against discrimination and xenophobia.

We organised resilience programmes for refugee youth to improve their skills to cope with trauma and challenges.

We enabled young people to discover Erasmus Plus projects.

This project was an important step towards a more inclusive and understanding society. Our participants not only gained an awareness of social responsibility, but also developed empathy for the difficulties faced by refugees and offered solutions.

With this meaningful project produced by young people from different countries working together, concrete steps have been taken in refugee integration.
