The second day of our project An Ongoing Destruction: Refugee Women

The first activity on the second day was entitled "Who is a Refugee, Migrant, Asylum Seeker?". In this activity, a discussion was held about the difficulties that refugees, individuals who had to leave their country, face because of their race, nationality, social group or political views. Topics such as refugee identity, reasons for migration, and the differences between refugees, asylum seekers and migrants were explained to the participants in detail through a presentation. These informative activities helped the participants to raise awareness on refugee issues.

Afterwards, the other activity of the day, documentary watching, was organized. The documentary, which tells the story of 8 Syrian refugee women's struggle to adapt to life after migration, helped the participants to gain a deeper awareness of the difficulties and needs of women refugees. After watching the documentary, the participants analyzed and interacted and the event ended with this evaluation.

For the next event, a preparatory meeting was organized with their stakeholder, Wien Provincial Directorate of Migration Management. In collaboration with the stakeholder, a joint work plan was created to meet the personal needs of refugees, such as clothing needs. The stakeholder provided support in collecting unneeded clothes and items. Later on, the local community was informed that a stand would be set up for the collection of items and this meeting was an opportunity to meet the partner countries' stakeholder and to be informed about past activities.

The culture night event was a platform for the Ukrainian partner to talk about their culture. The participants discovered elements of Ukrainian culture through this event, where they were informed about cuisine, local dance and traditions. Preparations were made in advance and after the show, the participants had the chance to taste the famous dishes of Ukrainian cuisine accompanied by traditional music.

In the previous activity of the second day, the participants filled out the Youthpass and evaluation questionnaires. This evaluation exercise was carried out on the Yin Yang symbol. The participants wrote on the black side the shortcomings of the project activities and on the white side the achievements of the project. The group leaders then discussed the activities and achievements in detail with the participants on these papers. The last activity of the day, the leaders' meeting, ended the second day in a fun way.
